The culture of Brazil is like no other in the world because of its interesting history and exiting traditions . One of the interesting parts of the culture is dance like capoeira. Another aspect of its culture is it’s various styles of cooking and delicious plates. The country’s language is unlike the other countries in Latin America because its majority speaks Portuguese. One of the more exciting traditions in Brazil is its many dances.
Capoeira is a dance from Brazil that is still around today it is a very good exercise this is apart of culture because it is a kind of dance. Capoeira landed on Brazil’s shores centuries ago with the forced arrival of Angolan slaves. Through super-human ingenuity and despite their captivity, the Africans transformed their traditional dances into a powerful fighting art. After thriving as a type of self-defense during 400 years of colonization, Capoeira has since become a world famous sport. In recent years, Capoeira has gained international popularity through Hollywood films such as (citation www.sambao.com) "Only The Strong" and "Quest," as well as through a regularly aired segment on "Sesame Street." Capoeira’s history rich with the traditions of both Brazil and Africa - makes training this unique martial art an unparalleled experience. Its movements are graceful, acrobatic and allow for plenty of individual expression. In addition to a physical discipline, Capoeira students also learn percussion and a vast repetoire of traditional Brazilian song and dance. Not only are the song and dance unique, but different platters of Brazil are also some of the more exquisite in the world.
The food of Brazil is very exquisite it has some amazing deserts and breakfast and dinners. This other desert is Brigateiro it is a fudge ball with chocolate sprinkles on it the size of a golf ball. Its made of the fudge stuff witch is made by taking condensed milk and cooking it with chocolate and then rolled in chocolate sprinkles. The traditional breakfast consists of coffee and some kind of bread or roll. The coffee is usually black or with some added sugar. The bread is made fresh everyday. In small towns, a person can go to town to pick up fresh bread for the day. In a big city like Sao Palo there are trucks that one can buy the bread from. The bread is based as a snack through out the day. The main dish at dinner is called Feijoad. It consists of black beans, ham hock, dry beef, pork, linguica, and sausage served with slice bananas with rice, collard greens on the side, and faroca. The language of Brazil is Portuguese.
The language of Brazil is another attribute that sets it apart from the other countries. The first settlers that came to Brazil from Europe brought the Portuguese language. After Portuguese began to expand in Brazil and become more widely used, the first languages of the tribes that first inhabited the country, vanished. Portuguese helped Brazil gain it independence sooner because it set the country at a standard language so if every one spoke that language then every one could talk to each other made it more simple for the people of the country to communicate with one another in order to fight for their independence. From the spread of the Portuguese language came great literature from Brazil’s many authors and poets. Literature and music were some of the things that made Brazil the amazing and exciting country it is today. It brought the people of Brazil together to form a unified nation. Brazilian fiction, poetry, and drama account for about half the literary output of Latin America, calculated by the number of titles of individual books.
Culture is one of the many aspects that make Brazil a great country. Brazils dance has inspired such festivals such as carnival which is now celebrated even her in the U.S. and other Latin American countries. Another widely shared tradition is coffee and bread in the morning. The language of Brazil has brought the country closer together than was possible before the arrival of the Portuguese. Geography and history has made Brazil what the country that we know today the same way as its culture has.
